In Kazan, since November, 60 people who were injured due to ice-covered ground have been called to the ambulance. This is 40% less than in the same period last year. This data was stated at a press conference in the News Agency "Tatar-inform" by the head of the Operational Department of the Emergency Medical Care Station of the capital of Tatarstan Tatyana Likoturnova.
"Last year, there were 40% more requests due to injuries related to ice-covered ground. Most likely, this is due to the fact that many people have begun to work remotely via the Internet, as well as other quarantine measures [due to the coronavirus pandemic]," - the speaker noted.
According to Tatyana Likoturnova, the age composition and nature of injuries remained the same as last year. So, 60 requests to the ambulance station with injuries, 7% were for children, 58% – for people of working age, and 35% – for people 65 years and older.
At the same time, more than half of the cases, 52%, are associated with a broken limbs. 23% are traumatic brain injuries, 13% are bruises and sprains, and another 3% are dislocations.
