People carelessly open champagne, violate safety regulations in the use of fireworks and get snowballs in the eyes.

During the New Year's celebration, there are injuries after getting a champagne cork or snowball in the eye, as well as burns from fireworks and firecrackers. Elina Minkhuzina, a doctor of the Republican Clinical Ophthalmological Hospital, told about these cases at a press conference in the Tatar-inform News Agency.

"The most common thing is a blow from a champagne cork. There are such requests every year. The second is to use firecrackers and sparklers. You need to buy all this in a certified store and observe safety regulations,"- the speaker said.

She added that there are requests because of the fighting, including in a state of alcoholic intoxication.

People come with injuries of varying severity: from bruises of the eye to burns and contusion of the eyeball.

Earlier, the Tatar-inform News Agency reported that in Kazan, the number of injuries caused by ice has decreased by 40% due to the pandemic.
