28 December 2020, Monday

I climbed up the stairs to the third floor, as if I had conquered Everest — this is how Yuriy Ivanovich Tereshonok, a pediatrician of the Children's hospital of the Central City Clinical Hospital #18 of Kazan, describes his health state after suffering from Covid-19.

The disease developed rapidly: at first there was just weakness, aches in the body, back pains, and then the sense of smell was off and shortness of breath began.

"I began to suffocate, at night I was tormented by nightmares. When I realized that I could not help myself, I decided to seek medical attention from my colleagues, " the doctor said.

Yuriy Ivanovich was admitted to the hospital in a serious health condition, with low oxygen saturation.

The virtual conсilium was held, the patient was given anti-cytokine therapy. He felt better and saturation began to rise.

The course of Covid-19 was complicated by concomitant diseases and obesity.

After being discharged from the hospital, Yuriy Ivanovich promised himself to lose weight and seriously control his health in the new year.

"Now I feel better, my sense of smell has been restored. But I have weakness. I will slowly recover, lose weight. I want to express my gratitude to my colleagues - attending physicians, Zulfiya Marsovna Fatykhova, pulmonologist, professor Rustem Fidagievich Khamitov, resuscitator Anatoly Sergeyevich Pronin, general practitioner Marat Zyamilevich Khasanshin, who helped me cope with the disease. I also want to thank my supervisor, Tatyana Borisovna Moroz. She persuaded me to go to the hospital and supported me throughout the treatment period, " the man added.

We wish our colleagues and all those who are currently undergoing treatment for coronavirus infection a speedy recovery.

Be healthy!
