27 January 2021, Wednesday

In what mode and with what load do the doctors and paramedics of the ambulance station work today? The TV channel Efir Nizhnekamsk journalists went to the calls together with the medical team.

The paramedic of the brigade #10 Olga Mikhailovskaya reminded journalists of the difference between emergency calls and urgent care calls and told about the main superstition sign of all ambulance employees.

"With what call the shift starts, the way it will pass. If the first call is a patient in a serious condition, the shift will be difficult, " Olga Mikhailovskaya shared.

Every day, 16 emergency medical teams are on duty on the line. Every day, the dispatcher receives 350-400 calls from the population. Someone calls to receive a consultation, and there is a significant burden on the dispatch service that carefully filters the calls.

The senior feldshed Inna Sorokina told about what challenges can be considered futile or false.

"False calls, unfortunately, happen every shift. Patients do not realize that while they are making an unreasonable call, somewhere else is in dire need of medical help. Often our teams spend time searching for a house. Sometimes, patients refer to wrong addresses, confuse streets, or don't open doors. Now we have a big problem with intercoms. Relatives just sit at home, and no one will even think to meet the ambulance team, even though the intercom is turned off or does not work at all. In the daytime, we can still call our neighbors, who also do not always open the door.

For this reason, the waiting time for teams increases. Therefore, I would like to appeal to the population! If you call an ambulance and you do not have an intercom, please go to the entrance, meet, or open the door, " Inna Alexandrovna said.

The senior paramedic also noted a downward trend in the number of calls received from patients with pneumonia or complaints of high fever.
