"Let it be tomorrow" - under this slogan, the "Andrey" donor campaign will be held in Kazan for the fourth time. The campaign will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Republican Blood Center. The blood collection for palliative care patients is timed to the World Cancer Day.
"Unfortunately, people with incurable diseases are often treated as written-off items. Yes, there are such diagnoses and conditions when medications can only support, and not cure. But even at this stage, a person can live long enough and with a good quality of life, if you give him the necessary help and support," says Olga Yuskevich, co-founder of the Interregional Autonomous Non-profit Organization for Helping Cancer Patients "We are together ".
For the first time, the donation campaign "Andrey" took place in 2018. It was initiated by Alla Protas. Her husband was also a palliative patient. The campaign was supported by the Republican Blood Center and every year about 250 citizens of Kazan respond to the call to donate blood for palliative patients. In two days, it is possible to collect about 100 liters of blood and its components.
This year, Yoshkar-Ola and Volgograd joined the campaign.
Anyone from the age of 18 who weighs at least 55 kg and has no contraindications can become a donor.
