In the Kama Children's Medical Center, the number of childbirths with the partner has increased
In the Perinatal Center of the Kama Children's Medical Center, women began to give birth more often accompanied by their spouses.
In 2019, the doctors of the Perinatal Center of the Kama Children's Medical Center carried out 74 childbirths, which were attended by both parents, in 2020 – 75 (taking into account temporary restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic), for not full two months of 2021 – 16.
Partner births in the Kama Children's Medical Center are carried out in compliance with all epidemiological requirements. Partners in childbirth can be the child's father, mother or sister of the patient, if the necessary conditions are met. Finding a loved one for a woman in labor is a moral support. As a support, the partner can massage the woman in labor, help her breathe, and communicate. The only restriction on the partner's participation in childbirth is surgical operation, that is, cesarean section.
"We have a positive attitude towards family-oriented maternity care and welcome the desire of couples who want to experience such an important and happy life event together. But we recommend that you should go to a joint birth deliberately, both parents should be psychologically ready," said Alexey Estrin, Deputy Chief Physician for Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Kama Children's Medical Center.
Recall that partner childbirth began to practice in the Kama Children's Medical Center since 2011, and became widespread in 2014.
