The Clinical and Diagnostic Polyclinic summed up the Nizhnekamsk district's healthcare for the past year and announced the tasks for this year.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Sadykov, Mayor Aidar Metshin, State Duma Deputy Oleg Morozov, Head of the Health Department Sergey Meryasev, heads of state and private medical institutions, representatives of insurance companies, etc.

Last year was a challenging year for healthcare in the fight against coronavirus infection. 482 patients were identified with a confirmed Coronavirus diagnosis, which is 3.6% of the total number of cases in Tatarstan. 5 people died in the hospital. A total of 5,343 patients were treated at the hospital over the past year, 24 pregnant women were treated, and 15 deliveries were made in women with signs of Covid-19. The maximum number of deployed beds for patients with Covid-19 and pneumonia reached 350. The total number of medical workers who worked in the hospital was 332 people, including 58 doctors.

In the rating of healthcare institutions in Tatarstan, Nizhnekamsk Municipal District took 13th place in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2020. The population's satisfaction with the quality of medical care was 87.7%.

Despite the current situation, in Nizhnekamsk, work continues on implementing the National Healthcare project, which consists of 8 federal projects.

Due to the pandemic, all planned medical care was suspended for 4 months. For those over 60 years of age, isolation was maintained until the end of the year. 25 thousand adults were examined thoroughly, 43% of them were sent to the second stage (the plan was completed by 43%), 1,468 diseases were detected for the first time, including 18 neoplasms, 3 of them malignant. 35 thousand children were examined, 63% of the plan.

Therefore, among the priority tasks facing Nizhnekamsk healthcare is to screen people  for cardiovascular, endocrine, and oncological diseases.

Nizhnekamsk Municipal District has always been famous for its strong medical personnel. "It should be brought back," the head of the NMR stressed, noting that the city was among the most advanced. The efforts of doctors and hospital staff to provide high-quality care have allowed us to get good results in the fight against the new coronavirus infection. Marat Sadykov also emphasized this fact, noting that now it is necessary to solve the personnel issue. To date, 617 doctors and 2,107 secondary medical workers work in the hospitals of Nizhnekamsk. The provision of doctors is 26.7 per 10 thousand of population. The staffing of medical personnel by individuals is 50.1%, the average staff is 71.7%.

"We have new challenges ahead," Aidar Metshin stressed. "And one of them is the personnel issue. We have developed a strategy for the development of healthcare, but today we have to admit that the measures taken are insufficient and ineffective for this. Therefore, now we need to review the strategy and provide new approaches to provide Nizhnekamsk medicine with high-quality personnel."

Among the priorities of this year, construction begins on the Admissions and Diagnostics Department, reducing mortality, mass vaccination against coronavirus infection, strengthening the material-technical base in parallel with the capital construction.

This approach to work has allowed Tatarstan to become one of the leading regions in the fight against coronavirus infection, as Oleg Morozov said in his speech. "Tatarstan has coped with this challenge more effectively, which is due to many circumstances – the retention of personnel, modernization. All this allows us to solve issues more efficiently and better."

"Thank you, colleagues! Thank you for the work you are doing, for the fact that no one refused to work in the red zone, and, of course, great patience to your loved ones. When we are united – we are invincible; in this war, the victory will be ours," Sadykov concluded.
