On March 22, 1976, the first maternity hospital was opened in young Nizhnekamsk. It was designed for 150 beds, it had 2 physiological and 1 observational departments, wards were allocated for the care of newborns and injured children.
The first baby in the new maternity hospital was born right during the opening ceremony. A red ribbon is still stretched in front of the entrance, and behind it the birth was already taken. A girl was born, and the history of the current perinatal center began. By this time, more than 3,500 newborns were born in the city during the year, and there was a sharp increase in the birth rate.
The chief physician of the new maternity hospital became Galina Ismagilova Ivanovna. With her direct participation, not only the first maternity hospital was built, but also a women's clinic, gynecological departments in city hospitals were opened.
In the early years, the distance from the city and the off-road became a difficult test and created additional difficulties for the medical personnel of the maternity hospital.
