The Steps of Longevity flash mob was held today in honor of World Health Day on Lake Kaban's embankment. It was organized by the City Polyclinic #7, KSMU, and the Republican Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention. The flash mob's purpose was to instill an interest in a healthy lifestyle and tell about disease prevention rules.

"In the last year, the role of health care not only in Kazan and the republic, but also in the world has acquired great importance. I am very pleased that you do not lose interest in life, live in the desire to be healthy, despite the challenges that the pandemic throws at us. Thank you all for your participation. I wish you good health, happy holidays! " said Ramil Mukhamatdinov, Deputy Head of the Health Department in Kazan, in his welcoming speech.

Even before starting the official part of the event, Kazan residents, together with specialists, did a therapeutic exercise. Those who wished could measure their blood pressure on the spot and consult with doctors. The action participants had the opportunity to learn how and when to exercise correctly, the benefit of Nordic walking, and how to choose the right shoes and sticks for it, and much more.

There were many older people among the participants of the flash mob. Many of them have long been engaged in Nordic walking together with the staff of polyclinic #7.

The organizers prepared unique literature for the event participants: a self-control diary to independently check the pressure, memos on how to recognize the first signs of a stroke, brochures with rules for the prevention of various diseases — all these Kazan residents could get free of charge.
