New Japanese technique for patients with esophageal achalasia has been brought to Tatarstan by an endoscopist from St. Petersburg

Alexander Smirnov, head of the Department of Endoscopy of the Research Institute of Surgery and Emergency Medicine of St. Petersburg, conducted master classes on per-oral endoscopic myotomy at the Republican Clinical Hospital of Tatarstan during the IV All-Russian Conference “Multidisciplinary approach in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive and respiratory systems”, which has been established in memory of the prominent Professor of Tatarstan Vladimir Muravyev.
