2nd myth: Hepatitis C is not dangerous

The truth is that this virus can lead to serious morbidities, including hepatic cirrhosis and cancer. Moreover, Hepatitis C is the key cause of liver transplantation. Ignoring of this problem can have dire consequences.

3rd myth: Recontamination of Hepatitis C is impossible

The reality is that it is possible, unfortunately. Hepatitis C has different subtypes. If you have been ill or cured with the help of therapy from a chronic form of Hepatitis C of one genotype, then the formed immunity will not protect against other variants of the pathogen.
