Alignment meeting concerning HIV infection has taken place in Health Ministry of Tatarstan Republic

On November, 13th 2013 at 14.00 in Health Ministry of Tatarstan Republic has taken place alignment meeting: « Pressing questions of HIV infection in Tatarstan Republic. Preventive maintenance of transmission of HIV infection from mother to the child» during telemedicine. The event was reserved for head physicians, deputies of head physicians, doctors epidemiologists, infectiologists, pediatrists, obstetricians-gynecologists.

In the introductory part of meeting the head of department of medical and disease-prevention service of Health Ministry of Tatarstan Republic I.Malysheva  has noticed that in Tatarstan Republic prevalence of HIV-infection constitutes 0,4 % ( Russian Federation – 0,6 %). In 9 subjects of Russian Federation, including Samara and Ulianovsk areas more than 1 % of expectant mothers are infected by HIV that can be estimated as generalised stage of epidemic of HIV-infection.

In the report «Organizational aspects of perinatal HIV-infection prophylaxes in Tatarstan Republic» head physician of SAHI « AIDS center of HM of ТR» N.Galiullin has presented the analysis of the work on preventive maintenance of transmission of HIV from mother to the child in healthcare institutions of republic.

In closing speech Malysheva has noticed that containment of HIV-infection is interdepartmental problem and includes prophylaxis of new cases of infection, and preventive maintenance of diffusion of HIV-infection among the population.
