Week against arterial hypertension is taking place in Russia from 11 to 17 May

Blood pressure depends on age, time of day, stress, and physical activity. The norm for an adult is no higher than 140/90 mmHg. In children, the indicators are lower, and with age, the pressure may increase slightly.

If the blood pressure is consistently elevated, doctors diagnose arterial hypertension. This condition is dangerous: with every +10 mmHg, the risk of cardiovascular diseases increases by 30%.

People with high blood pressure are 7 times more likely to have strokes, 4 times more likely to have coronary heart disease, and 2 times more likely to have leg vessels affected. Prolonged hypertension without treatment increases the risk of sudden death by 50%.

The World Health Organization confirms that simple pressure control helps to avoid heart attacks, strokes, vascular dementia and other serious complications. Measure the blood pressure for yourself and your loved ones - this simple action can save a life.

We remind you that medical examinations and preventive examinations are carried out within the framework of the national project "Long and active life".
