The oncologist-surgeon, who hails from holy Bethlehem and speaks four languages, conquered the cancer patients of Naberezhnye Chelny with his attentiveness
Hamideh Haytham Mohammad (approx.author: colleagues call him "Haytham Mohammadovich" in the Russian manner — he doesn't mind☺️) was born in Bethlehem, a five-minute walk from the Church of the Nativity. "I guess that's where my faith and desire to help people come from," says the doctor. He began his career as a doctor back in Palestine, then worked for several years at the Belgorod Oncological dispensary, followed by the Leningrad Regional Clinical Oncological Dispensary named after L.D. Roman.
But suddenly his life changed: complications after suffering from the coronavirus led to neuropathy and hand tremor — the risk of losing the profession he had been living in for many years. "A surgeon's hands can't shake," says Haitham Mohammad.
Rehabilitation, daily training and great perseverance allowed him to return to the profession, but in a new capacity — as an oncologist at the Naberezhnye Chelny Cancer Center polyclinic. He dreamed of moving to the Republic of Tatarstan for a long time, and it was here that he was able to start a new chapter of his medical career. Today, he conducts outpatient appointments: attentively, with great respect for each patient.
