As part of the week of prevention of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, Gulnara Maksutova, a gastroenterologist at the children's polyclinic No. 3 in Naberezhnye Chelny, shared valuable recommendations.
According to the doctor, the most common gastrointestinal diseases in young patients are dyskinesia and biliary tract motility disorders, gastritis, constipation and diarrhea.
The most common causes are poor nutrition, irregular meals, overuse of fast food and lack of water.
"If a child goes hungry for a long time, it provokes stagnation of bile and increased acidity, which irritates the gastric mucosa and leads to inflammation. When this happens all the time, chronic gastritis develops," explains Gulnara Rashidovna.
She added that parasitic infestations and frequent acute respiratory viral infections can lead to unpleasant consequences. School-age children are especially often treated with exacerbations of chronic gastritis.
