This year, more than 1.45 million people have undergone medical examinations in Tatarstan. Elena Khafizova, Head of the Department of Preventive Care and Health Planning of the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan, told about this at a press conference for Tatar-Inform today.

"Medical examinations are carried out every three years for people from 18 to 39 years old and once a year for those over 40 years old," said Elena Khafizova.

Diseases were detected in 100,000 people who underwent medical examinations. 32,000 people have been diagnosed with diseases of the circulatory system — these diseases are in the first place in terms of frequency of detection.

During medical examinations, all examinations that are necessary for a person, depending on age and gender, are carried out, added Lucia Feyshanova, chief specialist in medical prevention at the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan.

"Following the results of the first stage of medical examination, when pathologies are detected, the patient is sent to the second stage, where more in–depth examinations are carried out," she said.
