A 45-year-old Tatarstan man received shrapnel wounds in a special operation area last year. He was written off for health reasons. During the examinations, our doctors found a fragment in his liver. The location of the fragment was as life–threatening as possible - with any abdominal injury, the fragment could pierce a vein, internal bleeding would occur and the man would die.
In two hours, the team of surgical department No. 2 removed the fragment and a few days later the man was safely discharged home.
