In laboratory of SAHI "Emergency Medicine Hospital"(EMH) of TR the new method of laboratory researchesondetermination of antibodies to nematodes of Anisakis marina has been mastered.
Infection of herring-worm disease happens at the use of crude, slightly salted or insufficiently thermally cooked sea and oceanic fish (salmon, herring, cod-fish etc.). The majority of disease’s cases are not diagnosed and stay not recognized. During the learning of this disease in Japan it has been noticed that the appendicitis, acute abdomen, stomach tumour, ileitis, cholecystitis, diverticulitis, tubercular peritonitis and pancreas cancer have been diagnosed in 60 % of patients before operation. In the gastric form of herring-worm disease in 86 % of cases the diagnosis of stomach ulcer, stomach carcinoma, stomach polypose and other tumours of stomach have been incorrectly determined; in the intestinal form in 52 % of cases the acute appendicitis and acute ileitis has been incorrectly determined. Crone disease is often determined incorrectly too.
Many sea fishes are infected by Anisakis marina. From 25 to 100 % of populations of greenling, halibut, flounder, Siberian salmon, cods, capelin, herring and other fishes of Okhotsk are affected by them. The lesion of squids of Pacific ocean attains 28 %.
Determination of antibodies to antigens of Anisakis marina allows to make more precisely the correct diagnosis and to apply specific therapy.
