Tuberculosis mortality is an indicator of the quality of TB care. In 2025, tuberculosis mortality decreased by 7.7% and amounted to 1.2 per 100,000 population. The mortality rate from tuberculosis in the republic is 2.3 times lower than in the Russian Federation. No deaths from tuberculosis were recorded in 2025 in 27 municipal districts of the republic.
In November 2023, an action plan (Roadmap) for improving the organization of specialized medical care in the field of phthisiology in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2023-2025 was developed and approved by the Order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan dated 11/23/2023 No. 2797. According to the Roadmap, by the end of 2025, the incidence and mortality from tuberculosis should be 19.6 and 1.2, respectively. The targets of the Roadmap for 2025 have been met.
The objectives of the TB service for 2026. The aim is to further improve the quality of preventive measures, improve the diagnosis of tuberculosis using new technologies, including accelerated molecular genetic methods of etiological diagnosis, increase the effectiveness of tuberculosis treatment, develop medical, social and psychological care for tuberculosis patients, improve logistical support and further develop the digital direction.
