Hepatitis C prevention measures

13 March 2026, Friday

Hepatitis C is a dangerous infectious liver disease caused by the HCV virus.

Without timely treatment, it can cause serious complications, including cirrhosis and liver cancer.

Ways of hepatitis C infection:

Through blood: the use of common syringes, tattoo tools, manicure supplies, dental procedures.
From mother to child: in utero or during childbirth.

The disease often develops unnoticed, manifesting itself only years later. Possible symptoms include:
- fatigue,
- nausea,
- joint pain,
- yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes.

To confirm the diagnosis, laboratory blood tests are performed for the presence of antibodies to the virus and the virus itself.

Modern medicine offers effective treatment regimens using direct antiviral drugs  with virtually no side effects.

 Hepatitis C prevention measures:

Always use disposable medical instruments and personal hygiene products.
Use barrier contraceptives (condoms) during any kind of intimate contact.
Take regular medical checkups, especially if you are at risk.

Regular visits to medical institutions and careful attention to your health can avoid serious consequences.
