Today marks the 80th anniversary of the birth of the legendary cardiac surgeon Renat Akchurin

Almir Abashev, Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Nail Magdeev, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny, laid flowers at the monument to Renat Akchurin.

The country's legendary cardiac surgeon would have turned 80 on April 2. The audience honored the memory of the legendary doctor and remembered his achievements.

He passed away on October 6, 2024, at the age of 78, and was buried in Moscow.

He is known in the professional community for being the first to introduce highly effective microsurgical techniques for coronary artery surgery into clinical practice in Russia and Europe. He created a national school of coronary microsurgery and introduced unique techniques.
