In 2026, the Kazan Marathon turned into an effective platform for broadcasting socially significant meanings and health-saving practices, including voluntary donation.
The Tatarstan Regional Office of the Russian Red Cross, together with the donorsearch blood donor community and the Russian Research Institute of Hematology and Transfusiology of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, conducted a donation campaign to recruit citizens to the Federal Register of Bone Marrow Donors. In just three days of work, 57 people joined the register.
They also talked about organ donation (but only organs) in the lecture hall of the Kazan Marathon. A panel discussion "Strength within: Sports after organ transplantation" was held there, which focused on healthy lifestyle and activity after transplantation.
