Meeting of the anti-drug commission was held in the Executive Committee of Kazan

25 June 2026, Thursday

A decrease in the number of newly diagnosed cases of drug addiction was noted in Kazan. The city's executive committee discussed what measures led to this and what else needs to be done at a meeting of the Kazan anti-drug commission. It was held by the deputy head of the executive Committee, Azat Abzalov, on the eve of the International Day against Drug Addiction.

Rezeda Khayeva presented the statistics. In total, 4,6 thousand people are under the supervision of doctors with a diagnosis of drug addiction in Kazan. Last year, the number of people diagnosed with drug addiction for the first time was 92, which is significantly less than in other years.

A resource center is operating on the basis of the RCND, which is actively implementing the federal program "Common Cause". Together with volunteers, specialists conduct interactive classes and video lectures in schools, colleges and universities. In the first five months of 2026 alone, they held 155 such meetings. Psychologists from a specialized laboratory work with teenagers who are the most vulnerable.

For teenagers with a diagnosis of drug addiction, rehabilitation takes place according to special, adapted programs. It's not just doctors who work with children, but trained psychologists and psychotherapists who take into account the age characteristics of each child.
