From September 21 to 27, 2026, Russia is holding a Week for Lung Health in honor of World Lung Day. As part of this significant event, another session was held at the Health School for patients with COPD.
Honored Doctor of the Republic of Tatarstan, Head of the Office of Medical Prevention Luiza Muradymova told the audience that the first World Lung Day was held on September 25, 2017 at the initiative of the Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS), which unites tens of thousands of specialists in the field of respiratory health around the world. The goal of the global initiative is to unify efforts and step up efforts to improve lung health worldwide.
Continuing the conversation, the specialist noted that, according to the WHO, COPD is among the top five leading causes of death worldwide, which is why it is so important to be informed about the disease, use inhalation devices correctly, have self‑monitoring skills, and see your doctor in a timely manner — all of which improve the quality of life and contribute to active longevity.
