REALIZATION OF THE INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM «HEALTHY AND SICK BRAIN» WAS COMPLETED IN KSMU
Realization of the innovative educational program dedicated to learning of actual problems of neurosciences «Healthy and sick brain: from molecular physiology to pathology, clinic and treatment» was completed in KSMU. Realization of this program became possible thanks to support of TR Government’s grant "Аlgarysh".
The educational program «Healthy and sick brain», initiated by the corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences, chief of normal physiology sub-faculty of КSМU, Prof. A.L.Zefirov, is dedicated to detailed learning of central nervous system and is on meeting-point of the fundamental and application-oriented disciplines directly studying brain’s work – physiology, neuro-morphology, neurology, psychology, psychiatry.
The curator of the project is vice-principal on educational activity of КSМU, professor L.M.Mukhariamova. She has noticed that this interdisciplinary program is realized in КSМU and in Tatarstan Republic for the first time. It became very popular: more than 100 students of medical and pediatric faculties of KSMU have wanted to be trained and have joined to the program. The purposes of mastering of discipline are forming at medical students of system knowledge in neurosciences, fundamental bases of pathogenesis of diseases of nervous system, the newest approaches of clinical diagnostic and treatment of neurologic and mental diseases.
The principal of the program is invited scientist, D.M., Prof., the chief of laboratory of «Epilepsy and children's illnesses» of Mediterranean Institute of Neurobiology, Nail Abdurakhmanovich Burnashev (Marseilles, France). The Scientific personnel under the direction of Prof. Burnashev is engaged now in research of disturbances of synaptic transfers and functioning of neural networks at epilepsy, autism, Alzheimer's diseases, tuberous sclerosis and other neurologic diseases. Professor N.A.Burnashev leads long-term cooperation with normal physiology sub-faculty of КSМU.
Within the limits of the innovative program «Healthy and sick brain» the series of lectures, practical training, round tables and clinical conferences on bases of КSМU with participation of scientists and doctors took place from February, 13th till April, 26th, 2014. Leading scientists-neurologists and psychiatrists of КSМU have taken part in implementation of clinical part of cycle: managing psychiatry sub-faculty with narcology course, Prof. K.K.Jakhin, managing neurology and aftertreatment sub-faculty, Prof. E.I.Bogdanov, managing neurology and neurosurgery sub-faculty, Prof. V.I.Danilov, Prof. of psychiatry sub-faculty with course of narcology, L.K.Shaidukova, Prof. of neurology and aftertreatment sub-faculty Z.A.Zalialova.
The interactive educational course «Healthy and sick brain», including presentations and video lectures of Prof. Burnashev, tests on key sections of the program and other materials will be accessible to all interested persons soon.
