Children’s Commissioner for the President of Russian Federation Pavel Astakhov has visited the first children's hospice of Tatarstan Republic within the limits of working trip to Kazan on July, 2nd. The hospice has opened its doors to the patients, suffering serious diseases only month ago. During this month the team of out-patient care has realized 200 visitations of sick children. Besides, the round-the-clock hospital on 12 beds and day hospital on 8 beds has begun its activity.
Annually about 50 children die from serious chronic diseases in Tatarstan, about 200 children need the palliative help and care domiciliary. The republic Health Ministry has come forward with initiative of the creation in Tatarstan of the first children's hospice. Angela Vavilova Public Charitable Children with Leukemia Fund has supported the idea.
Accompanied by Health Minister of Tatarstan Republic Adel Vafin and the chairman of the board of fund’s directors Vladimir Vavilov, Pavel Astakhov has inspected massage offices, relaxation offices, rooms for medical procedures, the rooms «mother and the child» and prayer rooms. Pavel Astakhov could talk personally with kids and their parents. He was interested how parents learn about hospice and get to the centre.
«Children's hospice is the example of immersiveness of each person to the problem. It is necessary to tell that Tatarstan Republic is the example when teamwork can bring succes», - has underlined Pavel Astakhov.
