The initiator of the campaign became a resident of Kazan Alla Protas; her husband Andrey was also a palliative patient. The campaign is held for the second year in memory of him and all the people who could live longer and better thanks to donated blood.

World Cancer Day is celebrated annually on February 4. The event was first organized by International Union Against cancer (UICC) in 2005. The task of this day is to increase awareness of cancer as one of the most serious pathologies of the modern world, to draw attention to their treatment and prevention.
