- Pregnant women with the flu need hospitalization 4 times more often than non-pregnant women;

- The most severe flu occurs in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy;

- More than 8% of hospitalized pregnant women (mainly in the third trimester of the disease) need intensive care;

- The mortality rate from influenza among patients in the third trimester of pregnancy is maximum and reaches 16.9%, with a mortality rate of 6% among all hospitalized adults;

- Premature birth in pregnant women with the flu is observed 3 times more frequent;

- Perinatal mortality is 5 times higher.

International Smoking Cessation Day is celebrated annually on the third Thursday of November. It was established by the American Cancer Society in 1977 and is supported by the World Health Organization (WHO), which adopted the Tobacco Control Convention in 2003. It was joined by 180 countries, including Russia.
