Chief toxicologist of Health Ministry told about first aid after a snake bite

Chief freelance toxicologist of Health Ministry Aliya Nasibullina told reporters about first aid after a snake bite. Usually a surge of snake bites occurs in Tatarstan in late May- early June. Now there are two suffered persons – the father and the daughter from Naberezhnye Chelny. 42 people turned to doctors for help after a snake bite in Tatarstan in 2018.

The most dangerous places for the bite are the neck, head and shoulders, as there are the neurovascular bundles in these places, which transfer the poison. Symptoms of the bite are: swelling, vomiting, redness, weakness, a sharp drop in pressure and loss of consciousness.
