A geriatric office opened in Pestrechi CMH. This was made possible thanks to the regional project "Older generation," which is a part of the national «Demography" project.
The head of the Pestrechi district Ilham Kashapov, the chairman of the State Council Committee on social policy Svetlana Zakharova, and the Commissioner for human rights in the Republic of Tatarstan Sariya Saburskaya were the first ones to get acquainted with the work of the office. The guests viewed the bright rooms, evaluated the equipment and availability.
The office is equipped fully with all the necessary equipment. A geriatrician, who was the first to complete the geriatric residency, is already on duty. Today, the office was able to receive its first patients already.
In total, more than 4,300 people over the age of 65 live in the Pestrechi district. Therefore, this opportunity will be more useful than ever nowadays.
After the opening, the guests laid flowers to the Medical Workers-Participants of The Great Patriotic War Memorial. The monument unveiled this year.
Geriatric medical care is a specialized long-term medical, social, and psychological care for older age and late-life patients suffering from chronic disabling diseases with partial or complete self-care ability loss. It aims to extend active longevity and improve the quality of life in older age and late life.
