On September 1, roentgenoendovascular surgeon of the Emergency Hospital of Naberezhnye Chelny Marat Ravilevich Sharafutdinov held a master class on installing a stent graft using the "outside graft fenestration" method implemented in our center since 2018. This master class was conducted at the Central Military Clinical hospital named after A. A. Vishnevsky in Moscow.
Recall that this operation allows to avoid a large incision and eliminate the aorta's rupture by installing a graft, a kind of" prosthesis " of the aorta's affected area. All necessary holes are made in the graft beforehand, with a jeweler's precision, which allows not to interfere with other vessels' blood circulation. Currently, only two medical institutions in Russia perform this type of operation: the Emergency Medical Care Hospital and the National Medical Research Center of Cardiology of the Myasnikov Research Institute of Clinical Cardiology in Moscow.
The operation was performed on a 40-year-old patient with type B aortic dissection complicated by malperfusion syndrome (poor or no blood flow).
