Nizhnekamsk residents with confirmed COVID-19 who are treated at home continue to receive free medicines. Deputy head of the Healthcare Directorate Alfiya Khasanova explained to journalists the procedure for the receiving of free medicines.
⠀"A patient who shows symptoms of a coronavirus infection calls a doctor at home or requests the office for patients with fever in local polyclinic. The doctor collects an epidemiological anamnesis and makes a diagnosis based on the clinical picture," Alfiya Khasanova explained. - In the case of a confirmed coronavirus infection, the patient's data is entered in the federal register, and in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, the doctor prescribes treatment that depends on the clinical manifestations, age and related diseases. For example, blood-thinners are prescribed only if there is a risk of thrombosis. In total, the list includes 12 free medications – antiviral, antibacterial, hormonal and blood thinning medications."
"It is important that the patient receives the medication that is needed. One of the drugs, "Favipiravir", which is given for free, costs about 5 thousand rubles. This is a very serious financial burden for some patients, therefore such support is important.
