10 December 2020, Thursday

Daniya Kiyamova had 70% of her lungs affected.

Daniya Sharifulovna was admitted to the emergency room of Spassk Central Regional Hospital on November 18 with signs of coronavirus infection. The woman had difficulty breathing, a high fever, and a cough. Kiyamova was admitted in a serious condition; doctors did not leave her side for several days.

As a result, Daniya Sharifulovna was taken by ambulance to Kazan for a CT scan.

The treatment was prescribed at Spassk Central Regional Hospital. This treatment brought a positive result. Kiyamova was discharged from the hospital on November 30. Her condition was noted as satisfactory. The woman underwent a secondary examination the other day, which showed that she was healthy.

"For us, this is the first geriatric patient with coronavirus infection," commented Roman Akhmetzyanov, one of Kiyamova's treating physicians, the deputy chief physician for medical care, and a surgeon.

"This lady lives in the village of Yardam, which is 45 km from Bolgar. We are still grateful to the ambulance doctors who promptly saw and brought her to the hospital and to the attending physicians Roman Akhmetzyanov and a therapist Dilyara Bagautdinova. They did not leave her side for two weeks while she was in the hospital, giving her the best they could when she was in serious condition. Thanks to the attentive and caring attitude of all the doctors who treated my grandmother, she is alive now and will celebrate the New Year with us! We are very grateful to them!" Landysh Ramazanova, a granddaughter of Daniya Kiyamova, thanked the doctors warmly.

68 patients with COVID had a 3rd and a 4th degrees CT scan (more than 50% of lungs are affected) since August of this year in the Spassk district. Of these, 32 have fully recovered; the rest are undergoing rehabilitation; their condition is stable and not life-threatening.
