Honored doctor of Russia Abdullin Ilgiz Sabirovich passed away

On December 11, 2020 passed away Honored doctor of the Russian Federation, Honored doctor of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, the Chairman of the standing commission of State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on the Social Issues and Youth Affairs (1995-2000) Abdullin Ilgiz Sabirovich. He was a talented, responsive and attentive leader who devoted many years to the national health care.

He was born on January 7, 1941 in the village of Shambulykhchy, Apastovsky district, Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. After graduating from the pediatric faculty of the Kazan Medical Institute, he was sent to the Orenburg region, where since August 1964 he worked for 8 years as the chief physician of the Dombarovsky district hospital. In 1972, he returned to Tatarstan, entered a correspondence postgraduate study in surgery. He was appointed deputy chief physician in the same year, and in 1975 he was approved for the position of chief physician of the Central District Hospital of the Laishevsky district. In 1979, he defended his thesis.

In 1981, I. S. Abdullin was appointed chief physician of the medical and sanitary part of the "Orgsintez" production association (later city hospital #7). He supervised the construction of this large hospital complex, developed the methodology for equipping it, arranged and trained personnel, and formed relationships in the new emerging team.

From 1991 to 1995, Ilgiz Sabirovich was a head of the city health service for 4 years. With his participation, 19 specialized centers were created in Kazan under the leadership of leading scientists of Kazan State Medical Institute and Kazan State Medical Academy, which made it possible to establish a close connection between science and practical health care and raise the provision of medical care to a qualitatively different level.

During the work of Abdullin I. S. in city health care, 2 women's clincs, polyclinic of pediatric hospital № 7, children's psycho-neurological sanatorium - hospital "Tasma", polyclinic #23, two child nutrition centers were opened.

In 1990, Abdullin Ilgiz Sabirovich was elected a Deputy of the Supreme Council of Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, and in 1995 a People's Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan. As Chairman of the State Council's standing commission on the Social Issues and Youth Affairs, he paid much attention to supporting kindergartens, youth clubs, and health care development.
