The Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention continues to hold lectures on healthy lifestyle. Recall that last year, due to the restrictions imposed, all classes were discontinued, and since November, specialists have resumed classes again. During this time, 50 lectures of different directions were attended by more than 1,100 people – schoolchildren, students, educators, teachers, employees of organizations and social institutions, as well as vacationers in the social service center "Miloserdie"(Mercy).
Classes encompass Nizhnekamsk residents of different age groups. For example, schoolchildren and students are taught about the dangers of smoking, alcohol abuse and overeating, and older citizens are reminded about how to protect themselves from diseases of the cardiovascular system – heart attacks, strokes, and what to do if your chest hurts or your blood pressure raises.
"Mortality from cardiovascular diseases ranks first in the world, so our therapist Svetlana Vyachkileva and cardiologist Zulfira Bigasheva during the lectures focus on how important it is to monitor the state of your heart and blood vessels, control your weight, blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Doctors also advise on vaccination and rehabilitation after pneumonia. And this is not just a lecture, in fact, it is a specialist's appointment right at the workplace, and those who wish to receive a doctor's consultation will get it at the end of the class. At the request of organizations and enterprises, some lectures are also held online," said Ravil Garipov, chief physician of the Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention.
By the way, in such classes, students often ask questions about the organization of medical care – someone does not know who to contact with a particular problem, someone cannot make an appointment with a doctor. Experts give explanations on the spot to some questions, and take data and contacts from the rest people, so that they can deal with the problem in detail later.
It is planned that in the near future, on the basis of the Public Health Center, as well as in polyclinics, telemedicine centers will be created – specialists will call and consult by phone patients discharged from the hospital and receiving treatment at home with pneumonia or COVID-19, as well as those who are registered with chronic diseases – groups and health schools will be formed for them. And the work will involve doctors who have reached retirement age, who want to quit because of emotional burnout. Meanwhile, in the Center for Public Health is already taken two doctors who provide advice to the Nizhnekamsk residents on the phone.
"For example, an elderly person has suffered from pneumonia, now his heart is aching, but he cannot visit the doctor because of problems with his legs," Ravil Garipov explained. - Then the patient can call our hotline 47-58-28 and leave a request for an individual consultation with a therapist or cardiologist. Later, one of our doctors will contact him and after consultation, the doctor will be able to either adjust the treatment or prescribe additional examinations."
The hotline of the Health Department also works on this number, where specialists do not just accept complaints, but work out issues until they are fully resolved.
