Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladislav Vinichenko together with medical volunteers took part in the cleaning of the Arsky cemetery at the grave of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Tatarstan, participant of the Civil and Great Patriotic War Sergey Alekseev.

"The current generation is beginning to gradually forget the great people who made a huge contribution to science. Their works are still used by our students, so it is important that those who are studying now know about these prominent figures," said Vladislav Vinichenko.

He stressed that every medical institution of the Republic of Tatarstan is assigned the burial of a prominent figure, and doctors are responsible for maintaining order and cleanliness.

The cleaning was attended by medical volunteers who annually support the campaign, and many of them have been doing this since their university days, said Anna Makarova, the head of the All-Russian movement "Medical Volunteers" in the Republic of Tatarstan.

"We understand how important it is to honor the memory of famous figures and professors who tried to teach us the profession," said Anna Makarova.

The campaign to clean the graves of famous scientists began on April 26 and will last until May 2. Many representatives of the government of the Republic of Tatarstan have already taken part in it and put in order the burial of many famous people.
