Hypertension, or arterial hypertension, is a chronic disease characterized by a persistent increase in blood pressure above 140/90 mmHg. Hypertension is one of the most common diseases of the cardiovascular system and can lead to serious complications such as stroke, myocardial infarction, kidney failure.
