Motherhood and early childhood are periods when the foundation of lifelong health is laid. In honor of Neonatologist's Day, celebrated on April 5, we recall the importance of prevention for mothers and their babies. A woman's health during pregnancy and the first months of a child's life determine not only physical well-being, but also harmonious development. Risk prevention helps to avoid complications and promotes a strong immune system.
Why is a mother's health the key to a child's health?
During pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes serious changes. Lack of attention to nutrition, physical activity, and emotional state can lead to anemia, gestational diabetes, or preeclampsia. A balanced diet with an emphasis on iron, folic acid and calcium is recommended: fresh vegetables, fruits, lean meat and dairy products. Regular walks in the fresh air maintain a normal weight and improve blood circulation. Avoid smoking, alcohol, and stress — they increase the risk of low birth weight and previous labor.
