Employees of the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan have been vaccinated against the flu
Today, employees of the Ministry of Health are undergoing flu vaccination. Representatives of the relevant department are setting an example by showing that vaccination is the most reliable way to protect the body ahead of the traditional rise in flu cases, which usually occurs in autumn and winter.
Elena Demyanova, First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan: “Our vaccination campaign is ongoing. In order to protect the health of our residents, we must vaccinate at least 60% of the republic’s population. Flu can cause severe illness, especially in elderly patients and those with chronic diseases.”
It should be recalled that high‑risk groups for influenza infection also include students of schools and other educational institutions; employees of medical and educational institutions, the social sector, and others who, due to the nature of their work, come into contact with a large number of people.
It is necessary to get vaccinated against influenza every year; the vaccine composition is updated each year in accordance with the forecast of the current strains.
A free flu vaccination can be obtained at polyclinics at the place of residence. In addition, during the vaccination campaign, mobile vaccination teams are operating; they carry out vaccinations at the place of study or work.
To protect young children, flu vaccination begins at 6 months of age, and children of an earlier age need to be protected through vaccination of those who have close contact with the child (including breastfeeding mothers).
