"A woman should be calm and happy for her own and her loved ones' sake, and she doesn't owe anyone anything else."

An oncologist of the consultative and diagnostic polyclinic of Nizhnekamsk CRMH Alexander Andreev told who has common cancer the most, how cancer develops into an advanced stage, and why it is essential to be calm and happy.

"Today, breast cancer is in the second place in the overall structure of malignancies after colorectal cancer, and among women, it is the most common. In total, 1525 residents of Nizhnekamsk registered with breast cancer. This year, 68 women were diagnosed with this disease; most of them are at initial stages.

Most often, breast cancer occurs in women over 50. Cancer is getting younger nowadays, and lately, it is detected in both 40-year-olds and 30-year-old ladies. The predisposition to breast cancer is also higher in those whose relatives had cancer of the digestive and reproductive systems, as well as breast cancer. Risk factors include the first pregnancy after 30 years, refusal to breastfeed, and smoking. Pregnancy and childbirth have a positive effect on a woman's hormonal background, so it is desirable to give birth to the first child at the age of 20 to 30 years.

Young cells divide actively, and three to six months is enough to allow cancer to grow.

To prevent the development of breast cancer, every woman should self-examine and palpate the breast regularly. If there are any lumps, indurations, you need to contact a therapist. It is also necessary to undergo regular medical examinations. During such tests, cancer is detected at an early stage. In this case, the five-year survival rate without relapses is up to 95%. Of course, it is crucial to treat gynecological diseases in time, and other breast diseases, such as mastopathy, lipoma, and fibroadenoma. All of them suggest that there is a hormonal imbalance.

Long-term stress also contributes to the development of cancer, but is not its cause. In a healthy body, cancer cells are destroyed. And when a person experiences grief for a long time, their immune system weakens, allowing cancer cells to grow. If there are signs of chronic stress or even depression, contact a psychologist or psychotherapist. There is nothing to be ashamed of when your health and life are at stake. A woman should be calm and happy for her own and her loved ones' sake, and she doesn't owe anyone anything else. Therefore, take care of yourself – come to the doctor on time, let go of minor troubles, and if you are experiencing grief, remember that you will handle everything. And smile more often because a positive attitude is vital for your health."
