Aliya Nasibullina, Chief Specialist in Toxicology, spoke about topical issues of clinical toxicology. The lecturer reflected in detail the main ways of toxic chemicals entering the body, considered the pathogenesis of toxic effects, and the features of antidote therapy. Aliya Rustamovna presented clinical cases from practice.
She paid special attention to the issue of clinical manifestations of alcohol poisoning, especially methyl alcohol poisoning.

"The most dangerous poisonings occur by surrogates. They entail disability at best, and death at worst. These are poisoning with methyl alcohol, ethylene glycol and isopropyl alcohols.
Patients arrive in extremely serious condition, often unable to explain what they were drinking. It is possible to find out all the data only after conducting analyses," Aliya Rustamovna noted.
